SHANGHAI (China) 13 September 2019 – This evening the prestigious Ballroom of the Sheraton Shanghai Baohua Hotel hosted a magnificent welcome dinner where many of the world’s best motocross riders joined Youthstream representatives, local authorities, delegates from the Chinese Federation and representatives of the MXGP Paddock to have a first experience of the Chinese Culture and officially kick off the JUST1 MXGP OF CHINA presented by Hehui Investment Group with a typical meet & greet.
Upon arrival the Official representatives onsite such as Youthstream CEO David Luongo, FIM President Jorge Viegas, FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela, FIM Asia President Stephan Carapiet, H&H president Huajie Ni, H&H Vice President Frank Zhu, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipality Sport Bureau Wenhua Luo, CAMF (Federation of automobile and motorcycle sports of peoples republic of China) President Guojun Zhan, Youthstream COO Daniele Rizzi and Youthstream Director Didier Henriod, among others, took the red carpet for a photo shooting followed by a traditional Chinese drums show.
Before the hosts introduced the distinguished authorities present at the event to gather on stage and welcome the hundreds of attendants, a LIVE Chinese music show gifted the international guests who were looking amazed by the memorable welcome event arranged.
Youthstream CEO David Luongo: “Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, we are very proud to have the final round of the 2019 FIM Motocross World Championship here in Shanghai for the very first time. We are writing the history today, being MXGP for the first time in China. I wish to thank first the FIM President Jorge Viegas to be joining us this weekend for the MXGP of China and share this moment of history with us. A big thank also to the local Organizer Hehui Investment Group, the CAMF (Federation of automobile and motorcycle sports of peoples republic of China) and the local government for the great job they made to offer the high standard facilities the Fengxian-Shanghai off-road circuit is providing and to welcome us tonight for this special opening event. Shanghai is one of the most exciting cities in the world and we are very honoured to start this weekend of racing here and build a long-term partnership to have Shanghai in the MXGP Calendar for the future”

H&H Vice President Frank Zhu: “We are very excited to host the first ever FIM Motocross World Championship event here in China. The FIM Motocross World Championship is popular, impressive and influential and we are very proud to host the last stop of one of the most important international events in Shanghai.”
CAMF President Guojun Zhan: “Dear Guests, good evening, today is a special day for all of us gathered here at Fengxian district in Shanghai, it’s the eve of the MXGP event which is going to take place tomorrow and Sunday. The Motocross World Championship is already famous in China and I’m very glad the people of Shanghai can have the chance to witness this event and feel the sound and the speed of the MXGP riders. Following the official speeched riders such as Team HRC’s Tim Gajser, Calvin Vlaanderen and Brian Bogers, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings, Jorge Prado and Tom Vialle, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Pauls Jonass, Arminas Jasikonis and Thomas Kjer Olsen, Monster Energy Wilvo Yamaha’s Gautier Paulin and Arnaud Tonus, Honda SR Motoblouz’ Jeremy Van Horebeek, Yamaha SM Action’s Maxime Renaux, Monster Energy Kemea Yamaha’s Jago Geerts, JD GUNNEX KTM RACING’s Richard Sikina, Team VHR KTM Racing’s Jordi Tixier, F&H Kawasaki’s Adam Sterry and Roan Van De Moosdijk, Bud Racing kawasaki’s Brian Moreau and Mitch Harrison, Maddii Racing’s Alberto Forato and Mattia Guadagnini, North Europe Racing Petar Petrov and the WMX rider joining the MX2 class this weekend Larissa Papenmeier among others went on stage for a final family photo before starting a traditional Chinese dinner.
The whole event, which included many typical Chinese shows, was a great way to warm up to what is bound to be an amazing grand prix here at the JUST1 MXGP OF CHINA presented by Hehui Investment Group.
